I’m a consultant and freelance managing editor for award-winning publications—developing content, assigning stories, and managing staff and freelancers to create a polished and timely publication. I’ve consulted for launches and re-launches, helping decision-makers figure out the competition, assess the potential readers, look at the market and refine the concept—so they have the industry information needed to proceed.

I’ve worked on publications with Scientific American, Technology Review, The Economist, Harvard Business School Press, UNICEF, and more. Below are some examples of my favorite projects.

MANAGING EDITOR and CONSULTANT, science magazine concept launch
Worked on a small team of top editors, writers and designers on Galileo, a science magazine concept developed with The Economist. Participated in developing the magazine concept and tone, addressing project feasibility and planning next steps.

MANAGING EDITOR, Scientific American Explorations, Scientific American
Edited Scientific American Explorations, Scientific American’s quarterly science magazine for parents with a national circulation of 200,000+ readers.

ISSUE MANAGER, Technology Review, MIT
Worked on the highly successful 1998 major re-launch of the magazine. Returned to fill an expanded management role for 1999–2000.

MANUSCRIPT EDITOR, Harvard Business School Press, Harvard University
Managed editorial process for ten books from acquired manuscript through printed book.
